Unfortunately, life events are requiring that I get rid of some of my PMU mares. I have put an ad in the paper for them, but am very scared that they won't get a good home or will end up at the slaughter. I was willing to let a rescue organization have them just to make sure they would be more likely to get a good home, but every organization I contacted has totally ignored my requests for information. Even the rescue, Hope For Horses, that I got them from doesn't return my calls. So I was left with no choice but to try to sell them and hope that I can find a suitable owner. If anyone knows of any more responsive rescue organization, please let me know. I would much rather put them in the hands of someone whom I know would care what happens to them. It's killing me to have to part with them, but I have no choice in the matter at this time.

How very sad indeed. I hope things will improve for you. Unfortunately you don't say where you live, but I found Hope for Horses in Washington state, one in Texas and one in North Carolina. I'm in Maryland and that might be too far away, but here's some places you might try for placement.

I am new to this forum, but have around 2 acres here in Florahome Florida to give at least two horses a loving home.

Thank you for responding. I am in Texas, but I did finally get hold of the organization that I got them from. The organization is extremely busy.....I donated them back and feel much better that they will have a good change to go to a good home. I kept one horse and a donkey.
