We bought a Percheron mare last November, for my husband, that came out of Canada. She has 2 freeze brands on her and we'd like to find out more of her history, if possible. We got her from a third party, who can't remember which province the truck came out of, or the ladies' name who bought 16 out of 17 mares off the truck. We're in Colorado, so, somewhere north of here. She has an 8 on her right hip, which may mean that she was born in '98. And a backwards B with attached R monogram on her right shoulder. Her brand is not registered in Alberta and all the provinces are separate registrations.

We've had a lot of fear issues with her and her not wanting to join up with the other mares or us, so we contacted an animal communicator. She told us that her name was originally Lilly Star and she had a loving home to start out, but was later sold & went to the bad place. I would love to prove my husband wrong in his belief that communicating with animals is a "load of crap" and that we should start calling her Lilly. She responds to the name and has been much improved in her attitude since our "chat". She hasn't trembled in fear once, since then. That says a lot to me!

If anyone can help lead me in the right direction, we'd really appreciate it.

Thanks! Mary Beth
