This Saturday, Cody and I will be riding in a performance/pleasure horse clinic put on by a local popular trainer, Steve Holt in Valley Center, CA. When I called to see if we could go, the facility owner was very concerned about how Cody would behave. She said they have had some very wild and crazy PMU horses and draft horses in general there and she was worried that he might damage her facilities. We talked and she got to feeling comfortable when I told her that Cody has been used to give "pony" rides at a local autism camp. Anyways, keep us in mind. Hopefully, Cody will be on his best behavior and be a good ambassador for PMU and draft horses Smiler I'm excited to get out there and ride him!!

Our clinic went great!! Cody was wonderfully behaved, the clinician said he was a really good horse with a great head on his shoulders Smiler Several people watching and riding wanted to know what he was and 2 people actually have PMU horses! We worked on disengaging the hindquarters, one-rein stop, suppling, stopping, sidepass and some other things. Cody got pretty good at flexing and disengaging his rear end, side pass was very hard, stopping was not a problem Smiler and we made a lot of progress on bending and giving to pressure. We've never been in an arena before but he did really well with all the other horses moving around him, trotting and cantering past him, etc. I am soooo pleased with my boy. Oh, and he trailered like a dream considering up until now we've just done little 20 min. hops and this was about an hour and a half drive each way.
