I am proud to say that I have worked with UAN during disasters for quite a few years. Recently a published a children’s book entitled “Scooter Strays.” It is a story about what can happen to a dog when he wanders away from home. The book helps to give children the knowledge of how to take a proactive approach in caring for their dogs. In addition to teaching meaningful lessons on what can happen to a dog who wanders away from home, this book is also interactive. At the end of each page the reader is given a choice of what to do next. Depending on your selection, Scooter, the dog, finds new adventures. The book can be read again and again and each time the story can be different.
All proceeds from the sale of the book go to the Washington Humane Society, in Washington D.C.
