World Society for the Protection of Animals offers a thorough, well-organized manual "Caring for Cats & Dogs" suitable for children 7 - 12 years. Topics include: Understanding Origins, Needs and Behaviour; Keeping Healthy and Safe; Promoting Respect and Compassion. Each lesson includes objectives and learning outcomes as well as clear, accurate reproducibles.

"Caring for Cats and Dogs" could be used as stand-alone materials or in conjunction with another humane education program.
