Dear Herd Hosts:

I have a pet sitting business and would like to care for animals of elderly people who are hospitalized and have no family care for their pets. Do you know of any grants available?

Sincerely,

Susan

Hi Susan -

That sounds like a wonderful thing to do!

Grant availability usually depends on the specific type of assistance needed. In general, we advise individuals to plan for emergencies like these and make arrangements in advance with a neighbor, friend, church member or other person to care for pets if the primary caregiver becomes ill.

Here are some resources that might help you:

* We have posted general emergency preparedness information on our Web site here.

* You can find specific information and applications for UAN's LifeLine grant programs here.

* You can view our list of organizations that have assistance programs here.

* And, you can view fundraising advice and general resources
here.

Thank you for your concern for helping your clients and their pets!

Love and kisses,

All of us in The Herd
